Tobias Brandstätter began his career in the usual way with an apprenticeship in Café Winkler on the Mönchsberg in Salzburg, and in the Kurhausstüberl with Alfons Schubeck in Waging am See in neighbouring Bavaria. He then went on to the legendary Restaurant Korso in Vienna, where he further developed his art with Reinhard Gerer.
Stays in London under Marco Pierre White and under the Haeberlin brothers in Elsass played further influences on the young Salzburg man and further developed his talents. Tobias Brandstätter has been head chef in his parents’ business since 1995, and his wife Evelyn looks after her guests in the traditional Salzburg Café Bazar.
