The
real heart of our hotel is the restaurant. It has already
won a number of awards (Michelin * and Gault Millau
2 Chef´s hats) and is well known to gourmets everywhere.
You can relax comfortably in the "Zirbenstube", a non-smoking
saloon which is a masterpiece of local cabinet-making,
and in the sunny garden, just as soon as the weather
allows.
The
son, Tobias Brandstätter, at 26 years of age, is Austria´s
youngest chef de cuisine, and he and Karl Poller maintain
the highest standarts of traditional Austrian cooking.
Long
since reckoned to be classics are, for instance, "Brawn
of the house, accompanied by best pumpkin seed oil from
the region of Steiermark", or "Crisp farm duck, slowly
roasted hour after hour in the oven". Just look at an

menu.
The
patron, Elfi Brandstätter can helpfully suggest the
most appropriate wine to acccompany every dish. Continually
searching for new names to add to the unusual and comprehensive
wine list, she
has located the best Brunello around and discovered
a single island of quality in the vast Valpolicella
wine lake, while on her travels. Elfi Brandstätter´s
pride and joy and favourite place - and not only hers!

with its wines from the best vineyards of Austria, France,
Italy and Spain.
