After all, Tobias Brandstätter began his culinary career in a wholly traditional manner with an apprenticeship in Café Winkler on Salzburg’s Mönchsberg and in Alfons Schubeck’s Kurhausstüberl at Waging am See in neighbouring Bavaria. His career then took him to legendary Restaurant Korso in Vienna, where he refined his culinary expertise working with Reinhard Gerer. Sojourns in London at Marco Pierre White and the Haeberlin brothers in Alsace left their mark on this young man from Salzburg and enabled his talent to further develop. Since 1995 Tobias Brandstätter has been Chef de Cuisine in Gasthof Hotel Brandstätter, while his wife Evelyn took care of guests in the traditional Café Bazar in Salzburg.
